TVETCGC initially known as the Further Education and Training College Employers Organisation (FETCEO) was established in 2007 by TVET College Council Members appointed by the Minister of Higher Education and Training who represent all the 50 registered and accredited TVET in South Africa.
In 2015, FETCO held an Annual General Meeting (AGM) to adopt a new name, TVETCGC, which reflects the legislative changes, sectoral name updates, and a strategic repositioning focused on governance in the TVET sector.
